A 40-kilometre open world

Valorn's map is 40 kilometres across: forests, mountains, rivers, roads and cities in one continuous piece, with no loading screen between regions.

There is no battle you "start" from a menu. A fight breaks out where armies meet: an encounter on a road, an ambush in a forest, the siege of a city.

Your army, under your command

Every player commands their own army. Several players on the same side fight together, each with their own regiments; a player alone is still a side of their own.

Orders, regiment selection and deployment only ever apply to your army, never to another player's.

Battles of 2,000 against 2,000

The engine targets 2,000 active soldiers on each side, each one simulated individually: every man looks for a target, parries, strikes, falls.

There is no morale and no rout: the fight goes on to the last man. The pace of a battle comes from formations, orders and cavalry.

Clans and their cities

A city always belongs to one clan. It can be visited if the clan opens its gates.

Walls and buildings have three upgrade levels. Each city's wall layout and building plots are fixed: a clan upgrades what is planned, it does not redraw the city.

During a siege, walls break. They are repaired afterwards.

Diplomacy

Clans can form alliances. When a fight breaks out, the armies of the players and their allied clans join it from wherever they are.
